About
IIDS
Institute
for Integrated Development Studies (IIDS),
established on 25 November 1990, is a non-governmental
non-profit organization. It was established
as a successor to the Integrated Development
Systems, or IDS (estd 1979), which was
dissolved following the change in the political
system following a referendum and introduction
of a more open political system in the country.
IIDS envisions to become Nepal’s leading non-partisan
private independent research institute committed
to holistic and sustainable development based
on human values. It aims to: contribute to
more informed public policy and action
by conducting empirically based policy-oriented
research on Nepal’s economic and social development
in national, regional and international contexts;
foster informed debate and discussion on key
development issues facing the nation; provide
training and technical assistance to governmental
and non-governmental agencies in areas of
Institute’s expertise, and facilitate access
to and exchange of experience with institutions
within and outside the country.
