Professional Staff

Mr. Abyaya Neopane is a Program Specialist (Economics) at IIDS with several years of experience in research, data analysis and public policy. Prior to this, he worked as a Research Associate to the Vice-chair (Dr. Swarnim Wagle) at the National Planning Commission (NPC), Government of Nepal. In the aftermath of the 2015 earthquake, he worked as a Research Analyst in the Post Disaster Needs Assessment led by NPC. His research areas revolve around international trade, development, Sustainable Development Goals and more recently on COVID- 19 and its impact on the economy. He is also the co-author of the book "Jobs, Investment and The Economic Structure", with Dr. Swarnim Wagle.
Mr. Neopane holds an MSc. degree in Economics from the University of Warwick and a recipient of the prestigious Chevening Scholarship.
