Ashmita holds Masters in Economics (Specialization: World Economy) from Jawaharlal Nehru University, Delhi, and a B.A. Economics (honors) with minors in Sociology and Political Science from Christ University, Bangalore.

Previously, she has led projects with the Internet and Mobile Association of India, KPMG, Chaudhary Group, and the Indian School of Business across Research, Strategy, Data Analysis, Public Policy and Branding Initiatives.

Currently, she is working as a Resource Specialist at the Institute for Integrated Development Studies (IIDS), WSP USA and Frost & Sullivan supported UKaid Skills for Employment Programme (???). As a part of this project, she is scoping, designing, implementing, and managing innovative market-based partnerships that are building meaningful impact on the livelihoods and resilience of Nepalis, stimulating firm/industry growth, and combating systemic constraints. She is also a Visiting Faculty of Microeconomics & Macroeconomics at King’s College.
